2012 Season Opening Letter

G-LAND SOJOURNERS….WELCOME to the 2012 SEASON!!!

We are ever-thankful when the opportunity to open up The Camp for another blessed season arrives.  And we can only hope you share the same feelings as we do, excited also to see one another's face again for those of you that make this regular pilgrimage.  Over the past several years, our off-season has progressively been getting shorter, giving you the option of spending more time in the lush, verdant jungle of Alas Purwo National Park.  Only being officially closed for 3 months, which was the shortest off-season we've ever had, we've begun operating now since the 1st of March.  Yes it's early, but the chance to surf G-Land with a fully operating camp has already come for those of you that want it.

So far, we have taken 1 lone guest into camp on the opening day, and several more have followed since then.  We've been looking at the weather charts for the local and regional systems and although none are predicting dry-season conditions, it does look like we're beginning to get transition/shoulder season weather patterns.  The winds are more variable, many days blowing from the north, lesser in its intensity, and  east winds are beginning to show up on the forecasts.  Also, the swell-generating storm centers are beginning to recede from the northward draw into the Indian Ocean, decreasing the amount of west in the swell, and ultimately, helping G-Land line up.

As always, the staff on Bali are there to get you set up for your trip and the staff on Java will be waiting for you with open arms and that special “WELCOME BACK.”  We've done some remodeling of the Bali Headquarters, but we are still in the same location.  Remember, if you’re flying into Denpasar INTERNATIONAL, we have agents that can help you with the immigration and customs processes.  Just let the office know when you’re setting up your trip that you’d like the VIP Airport Service.

We hope this reaches you in great spirits and looking forward to being part of another memorable experience.

Sincerely,
the Staff & Management at G-Land Bobby’s Surf Camp
