G-LAND ...   We started out with that early morning excitement, full of hope and plenty of wishes that some sets were gonna start filling into Launching Pad as the tide rose up outta the bottom.  0.2 meters at 5:30 flowing up to a 2.2 meter tide at 11:30.  Everything was looking promising, especially with the wind starting to blow offshore come 8 o'clock.  By 9:30, we had proper offshores and everything was looking nicely groomed.  We had a special load come in today with 23 guys.  Charlie Q. and Sid escorted by a solid group from Surftime Magazine.  Someone obviously had their eyes on the forecast and thought it was gonna be a good call to mobilize and make it happen.  They're planning on holding an...i don't know exactly how to put it...but an informal contest that's gonna last from the group paddle out until the last person comes in.  No jerseys and no priority buoys.  Plus all the rest of us are gonna be in the water too.  I'm aiming to win the 1 million rupiah "greatest annihilation claim!!!"

Warm up today in the end for what's supposedly on the way.  Launching Pad into Upper Speedies again, but it was better today than yesterday.  A little more activity in the beginning part of the session and then it went into a catatonic state for 40-60 minutes before just a few waves would come through, repeating the lag and giving me plenty of time to find a warm spot to wait out the lull.  YUP...the water went pretty chilled again.  BRING SOME RUBBER if you're coming out.  WOW!!!  Still cold in september...    So the sets were coming in at 8-12 foot faces and doing alright.  Moneytrees lining up nicely again today and as the tide began to drop, the form slowly got better and more upright.  Even a few nice tubes coming through, but mostly walled up faces to play on.  By the day's end, the swell really backed off and not much was happening.  Every so rarely, a couple waves would come through and if you were lucky enough to be right there, then stoked.  We're all a little caught up in the forecast for tomorrow.  Hopefully it materializes!!!
