G-LAND ... Tough not to wake up this morning and be free of expectations bouncing around in the head. Yesterday's session was why most everyone comes here. The swell was still on last night and...well...when you feel something good it's pretty standard to 'WANNA FEEL MORE." But we wouldn't be so fortunate to get a full replay of the 29th...
Pad into Speedies still getting sets, but a lot of them had that seam at the connection point. Basically better to sit down at Speedies and get one from there, but the lure of getting that one good wave from the Pad through Speedies can be pretty tempting. Sets about 8-10 foot faces and the winds were OK. Some offshore but some S wind too. Money Trees working well, but only a few were really setting up well.
Today was the first day without any sort of rubber. The past 4 days i've been wearing a vest and feeling fine. But the board i've been riding doesn't sink so i'm not really sitting in the water to my nipples. A jacket at most would be all good. BUT today you would've wanted a full suit since some pretty shocking jellyfish drifted into the lineup. They weren't all bad. Something like 3...maybe 4 species all lumped together and really making me think if the wave coming in is worth getting zapped. Not the best day to start skinning it again...but stoked that i can just wear trunks!!!
