G-Land gave a pleasant surprise today in that the swell was no smaller, but infact a bit bigger which went against my own forecast. Lumps of swell showing on the bombie at low tide was a good sign. Some solid 4ft sets were hitting the reef here and there (8ft faces), and going right down the reef too. A stiff tradewind came up around 9am and only helped things out.

Low tide was about 8am, so through the afternoon the tide was just covering the reef, peaking at a 1.6m @ 2pm. Stories of some nice running barrels inside Launching Pads and at Hoopthrowers (semi-fickle section at the end of Money Trees) made me think I probably should have gone out for a surf. But I felt a bit sick so I rested, and now I am feeling lots better, so it was for the best. Stoked that plenty of guests caught some nice waves today, and that the swell didn’t drop right out like I thought it would.
