G-LAND ... I was starting the day off full of hope, thoughts focused on the proper day of offshore that finally blew over us yesterday.  Hopes also that we may be recieving some surf from what the swell models were showing.  Some days that desire to surf is real high.  But today didn't provide the elements to satiate that desire.

So I spent most of the day working on boards out back.  Every couple of hours searching for a report from someone walking past.  No positive reports about offshore waves peeling off down the reef.  But that doesn't mean there was no surf.  Up reef at Kongs was probably about head high.  It was just the wind.  ONSHORE!!!

Yesterday...there was an scenario that played out for the first time in my life.  I can easily accept the possibility since ducking my head out of the way from jumping or flying fish has happened.  I've been pelted by a bulleting garfish in the chest before.  But we had a guy...Danny from San Diego...almost catch one in his mouth.  Probably better that he didn't since the damage it did to his lower lip could have done it to his dangling punching bag in front of his throat.  6 stitcheswere needed to pull it back together.  So now we can add that to the list of things to be HATI-HATI of!!!
