G-LAND ... To those early mornings that put up a fight to the standard "morning sickness" conditions, i'll put up a cheers to that one. So ultra clean this morning that it would have been amazing to be out there and surf alone. It's not "normal" but it does happen. It was transport day and so i just watched it. The tide was perfect for the swell's size...about 8-10 foot faces on average and glassy. By the time i was out front with the new guests, the wind started pushing onto shore and we just needed to wait it out. 10:30 or so and the wind started getting better, coming out of the S...not perfect...but 100% easier to chose over a W wind. It did end of blowing offshore sometime around 2, lightly and for a couple of hours.
A little bit of everything again, sections all coming alive for short periods of time. I've been looking at the photos almost each day lately. Dave and Norris have been putting in a solid effort to capture everything. Sometimes they're both on the shutter at the same time...like in the photos i loaded up yesterday. "Pipeliner from Land" by Norris and the "Pipeliner from the Boat" shot by Dave both shot at the same moment in time.
AND my original thought about me looking at the photos was about the surprise i've been feeling from some of the photo sequences. The days just recently past have been real fun...NOT GOOD...but real fun. There are sequences of waves captured that stand out way beyond the others....like the how the Launching Pad line-up palm tree does above the forest's canopy. Pretty far beyond. Norris shot some sequences of what looked like Fang from the photo angle from 1st point. There are some beautiful looking waves complete with multiple sections piping off for a significant amount of "wow, i'm still in here!!!" I was not fortunate enough to get any of those ones, but i'll stay hopeful for tomorrow.
