G-Land Surf had a slight increase today, the sets were 3-4ft all morning, and then in the afternoon there were solid 5ft sets up at the Kongs end of the reef. The wind was rather variable all day, not really a great offshore, but clean still, and some really nice overhead walls to be ripped up. Before dark I even got into a few nice glassy tubes and got some super smooth Ledge pockets, that my old 6'1 channels board sliced like a hot knife through butter.
All morning and early afternoon I did some surf coaching down at Tigertracks with Hoppy, the daughter of AFL legend Gerard Healy, as well as squeezing in a few fun waves for myself. My student did very well, and has made great progress on her last day!
Only 9 more days for me in G-Land and my surf guide stint comes to an end and I'll be heading back to colder waters in NZ. I'm not really frothing to go home, its so nice here, but will be good to see all my family and friends and at least summer is on its way for my home too.
