October 3rd 2010

G-Land was definitely bigger this morning than yesterday, but not over 3ft. Still, 2-3ft sets (head high) was enough for me and my buddies here right now, Chris Luke & Johnson. We went out Kongs just after 9am, and through the neep low tide (just 0.8m @ 11am) the waves were great! I was so surprised at these head high reelers hitting the Kongs reef perfectly and allowing multiple turn combos and even the odd tube more down toward Fan Palm. Speaking of which, Fan Palm had the odd cooker coming through too. Few guys sitting around the Ledge area getting fun waves too.

After lunch I checked again and woah! Seen some sick sets coming through Money Trees in the 3-5ft range. Guys getting overhead waves and wow they looked nice. However I had a feeling I was seeing the best time of the day and it wouldn't be so great later in the day, so I took down young Adam Grimson on my motorcross bike to Tigertracks, and we surfed the last hour of the day in fun but not so big 2ft waves. I caught 1 freak 3ft wave that was very nice.

Looks like similar size for the next 2 days, so everyone should be happy with some overhead surf to play in! Not very crowded at all right now, only handful of guests in each of the other camps and tomorrow after transfer day we will have about 40. So nice and quiet in the line ups 🙂  Oh and I forgot to mention... Its been offshore like every day!
