G-Land didn't have much to greet me with upon arrival today in the surf department. A quick 2.5hr fast boat trip across the Bali-Java Strait and with the odd bit of rain, I was pessimistic of waves today. Sure enough, it was about 1ft (perhaps the freak 2ft set), and the bits of rain on the way were actually far worse in G-Land. It had a torrential downpour from 2am till 7am that burst numerous banks and made new streams coming out of the jungle, breaking the 6 day spell of fine weather and no rain.
On the plus side, arriving in camp to my special big plate of fruit salad and porridge was nice indeed, and then in the afternoon after a tasty pancake & chicken burger with fries, my uninterrupted 2.5 hour nap was great! Exercise wise, mosts guests had a rest day. By Sunday new swell comes again, however tomorrow is supposed to be no bigger than today, so another rest day for me likely.
