G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp had a smallish changeover today. Around 6 people left and 10 came. My friend Chris Luke from Taranaki had to leave unfortunately, because today signifies an onslaught of good waves by the looks of it! Early in the morning some crew went out and surfed 3-4ft lite offshore conditions and had some good rides. This was the only time it was offshore today, but there was fun waves still.

A Southwest wind blew in sideshore for most of the day mid morning onwards. However early afternoon it was so light, and so sunny, and the water so blue, that the conditions looked awesome. I seen nice waves going down to the Speedies end of the reef with nobody out, Money Trees section with just a few guys, and up reef also had fun looking walls. I went out late afternoon and the wind had come stronger again, but the end of Kongs and the Fan Palm section were offering some really fun waves. One wave allowed multiple snaps and reo's before doubling up and giving me a lil barrel ride.

The water was so warm! Just a pair of boardies on and it was a pleasure to be in that water. Coming towards the end of the season I always start thinking about the New Zealand water I'll be home too in the not too distant future, and I appreciate even more the nice warm late season temperatures here.
