IT WAS A DAY NOT TO MISS if you were here at G-Land. Fortunately, all the guests got to surf. I didn't once again. But... fortunate for me, I'm not bummed by it either... just truly stoked for the guests. They got that gem of a day...November 12th 2009 will be remembered by several.
I'll have to trust the others about the midday quality since I was sleeping, but I saw what it was like early morning and at sunset. Solid 10 foot faces (you can assume there were those larger rogue surprises), proper offshores, walls lining-up and going hollow... beautiful Money Trees. Kongs, Fan Palms, and Fang had quality waves too. The reef was alive with surf.
I started hearing the claims resonating, so I found a break in the sunset-time recounting, and put out the question to all. "So who had the best wave of their lifetime?" 60% positive return...most of the others were on the other end of the balance scale. 1 got strangled by his leash, 1 didn't catch anything but a close-out, 1 wasn't around to ask, and 1 was happy but not claiming a new boundary-level push! The math's not too difficult to sum up our total guest list.
