G-Land surf changed it's face today pretty radically. A new swell came in from about 222 degrees and our beautiful 4 day run of Launching Pad/Speedies came to an end. It was nice to see exactly what a 20+ degree shift to the West would do....what part of the reef would turn on and what would turn off.
Lower Kong's through the Ledge were collecting all the swell. By 10:00 this morning, nice sets were coming in and breaking in the 6-8 foot (faces) range. By noon, some legitiamately solid sets showed up and going real hollow through the Ledge. Max sets today got up to 12-foot faces and the wind stayed good, blowing out of the East or going real calm.
Not many guys (well, for now, there's a decent number of girls surfing) were surfing until about 15:00. But seemed like everyone came out for a surf after that. Unfortunately, the consistency backed off and it was a session requiring a good amount of patience. Still, there were some nice waves coming in it was possible to get at least one. Another nice day to go surfing!
