G-Land isn't letting me feel confident in my abilities to feel/predict the seasonal change I thought was happening... considering what I expressed a few days ago. Last night dumped rain so hard and it almost continued non-stop through today until about 15:00. The rivers flowing into the lagoon were creating these little sandbars that really made it fun watching the shorebreak fold over like a mini slab reef.
BUT....surf was on the rise. The morning started out fairly small and sectiony. Faces were up to about 6 foot and hitting Kongs for the most part. A few were filtering down the reef at Moneys, but by noon, a new swell started to show and by sunset, I had seen a few nice looking sets running
through Money Trees and even starting to make it into Inside Launching Pad. The wind stayed alright through the day. A little window of N wind finished off the day, but before that, the wave quality was plenty good to set up some nice barrels.
The forecast is for a 7 foot swell at 15 seconds coming from 205 degrees. Looks like tomorrow may be a nice day if the weather doesn't go too bad. Just as long as the wind stays good, surfing in the rain is fine. Anyone know how close a lightning bolt has to strike to be felt???
