G-LAND ... Sorry for the lag
MAY 17.
Swell still real nice quality, generously giving us 10 -12 foot faces and the winds were alright. Still a bit of that schizophrenic tendency we've been feeling for the past handful of days, but it wasn't strong enough at all when the bad directions were blowing. Pretty decent amount of W in the swell, coming from about 220 degrees so not too much happening below Upper Moneys.
Kimbo gave us a breakdown on some firefighting techniques and then a demo of how to handle a spinal injury. Us being whoever wanted to learn from here in the jungle and then a solid crew of about 15 Park Rangers and Firefighters from Banyuwangi.
And finally the PPPK (first aid post) was opened.
Full Moon today and so came the first Gandrung (full moon party). I'm always into them, but the spirit wasn't so high for most of the traveller's out here. Maybe because right when it was about to turn on, IT RAINED. Not for long, but maybe just enough to change the feeling.
MAY 18.
Swell dropped down to about 8-10 foot faces and really nice from Fan Palms through Upper Moneys. Nice winds pretty much all day and something worthy of letting it be known...since I've been here, the surfer's in the water have really been maintaining an easily appreciable etiquette in the water. Naturally a few dysfuncs go down, but it's been real nice to let other people go on waves when your the one in position.
MAY 19.
Kongs day today. Still some sets coming in down at Fan Palms, the Ledge, and Upper Upper Money Trees, but with the downsize from the 18th and the swell still being pretty W, Kongs was the go. Some decent offshores too. YES. I'm hoping this will be a trend
