G-LAND ... Kept on the small side again today, breaking around head high. But there was a nice looking pulse that started showing up around 3:00 and Ledge/Moneys was picking up most of it. A few 3-4 wave sets running smoothly down the reef, standing up to about 8 foot faces and the tops getting pulled off the back from the offshore. The guys in the water had to be feeling the excitement.
Decent winds for most of the day and minus the front that pushed into shore at around 4:30, there were only a few short puffs of onshore. I didn't surf today, but watched from the bale's a lot. WOW...a few long rides going down. When it's head high, I figure that a 200-250 yard long wave gives a ride of around 25-30 seconds. And I watched a few guys get some speed tracks down into upper Moneys. Pretty stoked for them cause I could feel how much fun I would be having in their position.
