G-Land on March 26th 2010

G-Land welcomed me back with a few, fun, first-day waves.  Nothing like what has been told to me about this past new moon Speedies session, but I am still thankful for getting what I did.  But for those guys that got Speedies in March and with only one hand needed to count off the other takers, well....I'm truly stoked for them.  It may likely be one of their more memorable experiences of G-Land.

G-Land was 3-5 foot (faces) and had several windows of glassy, line-up sets breaking through Fan Palms.  For those other windows of time, it was the variable wind directions that broke up the desire to go for a surf.  But come 3:30 and the wind showed a strong potential that it would fade off completely giving us a beautiful sunset glass-off.

I'm a superstitious believer in sunset sets and usually find myself waiting for the superstition to play itself out.  Tonight, this amazingly larger set...and it was a full 6 wave set...came through Fan Palm/Ledge and only after it was over did I realize the sun had just set.  I was lucky enough to get one considering that I was sitting easily 30 yards too far inside and even luckier to gamble that there would be another set.  I was welcomed back today and I am still giving thanks.
