G-Land Surf calmed down a little today, just enough to stop the currents ripping down the reef and the bombie not to break. Yet still solid 6ft sets. An offshore was blowing by 10am, there were waves down at Speedies/Launching Pads, and Money Trees had some sick as ones too, a very nice day in G-Land.
There was quite a pack on the Launching Pad, and on the full high tide it got so lully, I paddled up to Money Trees where there was hardly anyone and got some smoking waves & barrels to myself, whilst everyone stayed down the reef hoping to get a good photo in front of the cameraman! Ha! One way to escape the crowd is to just paddle to the part of the reef where hes not shooting from. But if you do get a good one in front of the camera, its gonna look real good in a photo.
The water is still so warm here. Yesterday I wore a wetsuit vest and felt lazy and lethargic most of the surf from the heat. Today I just wore boardies and T shirt and this was a much better feeling, and made me feel more energetic. It must be 26-28 degrees celsius right now! Although wearing some neoprene is certainly not a silly thing, as if you hit the reef, its going to be like body armour.
