G-Land completely fooled me today. I got up at 5am (I much prefer to sleep in) thinking I was gonna score Speedies real good, and for the first time in about a week the wind was an ugly sideshore coming up the face. Then I paddled out at 7:30 expecting a change, and about 8:30 it changed - to a straight onshore! What a bummer, as Launching Pad was a solid 6ft+ on the sets and Speedies was ready to fire.
Finally at 11am it went offshore, just as the tide got too low for Speedies. Skunked! I did get a few nice barrels around 11am though, so not all was lost, and a couple other G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp guests, Craig & Tom, both got a crazy barrel each.
G-Land Surf was pumping through the afternoon, not that I was out there, I was so tired from my early mission. But there were some thick barrels on the Ledge, and some great waves coming through Money Trees and the Fang. Crowd was minimal all day long, Dr Larry surfed for 6 hours due to today being his last day. He got some great waves and had an awesome trip, plus served up some amazing fish for the boys on many nights!
