G-Land had nice offshore winds early this morning and the whole reef started looking good once the tide came in enough. We had a big turn over and I couldn't get in the water until 10 a.m. Speedies had already been pumping for 2 hours so I was pumped to get some waves. It was the best speedies I have seen since I was here.
Upon arriving to the lineup I was told of an injury that just went in. A dislocated elbow from a bad wipeout at Speedies. I had to paddle straight in without getting a wave and go see if I could assist in any way. We took him straight to Kimbo's clinic. He had already taken 4 panadeine forte and it had already been out for over an hour. His muscles were as hard as a rock and there was a good lump on his elbow. I tried my best to help him get it back in and in no time I had it back in the socket. After checking his circulation and feeling from the sight down I quickly grabbed my board and returned back into the lineup as quick as I could.
He has damaged his tendons, muscles, and ligaments and it has swelled up a little so he is off in the morning to get an M.R.I scan and x-ray. We have organised the fast boat to take him back first thing in the morning.
