July 30th Thursday

G-Land was basically the same size as yesterday. Waves in the range of 2-4ft lined the reef all day. This morning I got to take the G-Land Express fast boat. What a great trip it is, only a couple of hours after boarding, we were cruising into Kuta reef. I highly recommend this boat to any people coming to G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp. The extra $ spent is well worth it.

G-Land Surf was best on the late morning low tide as the offshore kicked in. Following recent days, the pattern once again occured where by the time the afternoon high tide came in and the waves should have been real good, the wind went more south! So from 2pm to 4pm it was better for turns and not barrels with the wind a near sideshore breeze. After 4 this south wind went calm, and the tide dropped a bit and the waves got nicer again.

Some guests commented the water was cool once again, and that they got cold, so bring some sort of wetsuit if your coming to G-Land! My first day of holiday was pretty cruisy, went out to Balangan and watched the sunset, but didn't surf. This wave looks like a non-stop close-out with 1 out of 20 waves actually peeling half decently! Tomorrow I'm keen to get some Padma St action on the beach breaks. After so much pumping reef action at G-Land, I need some 'average' waves to cool down on 🙂
