G-Land this morning was similar size to yesterday afternoon. No bigger. Glassy first off, and not the cleanest, but then an East 'devils wind' came up and made the waves clean up fast and the barrels open up, albeit a bit of bump on the face from the angle of the wind. One of our Kiwi guests David Newport went out and got one of the best waves of his trip - a good double barrel.

Straight after lunch I went out and had a 5 hour marathon session. Had a mini back pack on, and had sunblock, water and a delicious oatmeal bar that Mike Akima gave me (Mahola brah!). The swell was on the rise! Some solid 5ft sets beginning to bomb through, and there was even the occassional 6ft set. Consistency was not the key word unfortunately, but that is the nature of surfing. But when they came... if you got a one... pretty epic Money Trees really. A couple of waves I got 3 or 4 tubes per wave! And one of them would be a stand-up pit.

Crowd was reasonably busy all afternoon, but late afternoon there wasn't many, plus this morning there wasn't many out either. The Ledge tried to work on sunset, but tide was only just under 1.0m so it wasn't really doing it. But a lot of swell focusing on that section upon dark. Water was quite cold! Or maybe it was the wind too? I was in a springy and I wouldn't have wanted any less. Attached to the post I have put one of my stand-up pits today. A frame grab from my video camera filmed from the observation tower, and also a frame grab off my GoPro footage.
