G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp had a nice mellow changeover day this morning. Only 10 guests arriving, 19 leaving, so the completely full camp is now around 65 in numbers. Not that you'd notice in the water, the crowds have mostly been calm. 3 Kiwi blokes from Christchurch arrived this morning, Marshall McNeice and Dan Smith (Delta), who scored sick waves here last year, along with their friend Dylan Wood here for the first time. They're booked in for 12 days so no doubt will be in for a lot of good waves. Also coming in was Spock and his wife and 2 kids, and Rodrigo and Monica Silva whom are a couple who I see come to this camp many times... Rodrigo scoring the biggest Speedies barrel of the '09 season.
The line-up was near empty for the first 4-5 hours of the morning, with some fun waves to be had! 3-4ft, easily overhead on the sets. Offshore wind was up reasonably early too. I almost didn't surf today but at 12:30pm me and my friend Chris Luke paddled out and I did score one beauty of a wave! Have uploaded a photo (hopefully it worked) of the barrel I got on my GoPro. Testing out my new HD Wristmount, so when the waves really turn on hopefully I will be all ready and prepared to get that magic clip.
Plenty of guests had rest days today, and I myself had my usual nap in the late afternoon after a big huge plate of delicious Spaghetti Marinara for lunch. Shortly its dinner time - Fish with Balsamic wine sauce.. mmmm
