G-LAND ... The Plengkung Pendulum Has Swung Again!!! And in the direction everyone always hopes for...
July 16th.
It continued on upwards from yesterday...swell looking very nice and Moneytrees, the Ledge, and Fan Palms breaking all day long. Well, the Ledge didn't do it all day long, but it did come alive when the tide was right and there were a few big tubes to be taken. Some tough drops and warbled tubes, but they had some thunder to 'em. Moneytrees lining up with most everyone on it. Double overhead on the good ones and clean. Nice winds today and everyone seems stoked.
The Bay had plenty of takers and 20's was working about shoulder high. Tigertracks giving the guys head high peaks. Probably a really fun day to be down there since the swell has some noticeable power in it.
July 17th.
Swell came straight up from the day before and we actually got to see G-Land come alive. Bombora breaking and i mean cresting over, not just rolling whitewater. Sets in the solid double overhead range with ever so rarely a larger triple overhead set coming through. Moneytrees lining up nicely with some proper barrels running the reef. BUT it was tricky today in my opinion since there was still some "lumps n bumps" out there most of the time. The winds were pretty good most of the day. It started out looking normal in the morning...normal being that we needed to wait for the winds to come alive. But for those of you that know, the time always comes where everything smooths right out and when a set comes through if luck is flowing, then those are the gems of the day. Launching Pad working a little bit too. Nothing really setting up into Speedies properly, but waves coming through none the less. But it was a Moneytrees day for sure.
