G-Land still had plenty of swell as a group of 6 guests, myself, Dave & his family, Norris & Puma all left at 6:30am to head to Grajagan hoping to score the river bar. Upon arrival it was clear it was a bit smaller than the day before, but we had the glassy conditions on our side. It looked tiny though, so only me, Mark & Michael (Have a photo below of Michael on a great wave) ventured out. It was infact solid 2ft with some 3ft sets, and very fun! Must be the SW swell angle making it so small, with more south in it surely it must get a lot bigger. We will try again! To score that big and barrelling would be insane. Water was real warm over there, boardies was perfect.
Anyway, we were all back by lunch time in camp, the offshore had picked up - however it was a bit from the South, but still, the line-up was looking much more managable than the day before.
After some food I headed out on my new favorite big wave 7'6, and got a handful of nice barrels mostly at the Ledge and then Money Trees on the wider sets. The swell was still very SW, so there was some sweep from the big Fan Palm sets, but not too bad. Was in again around 3pm for my proper lunch. Everyone hit it after 3 it seemed, 30 or so guys on the Tree, so I was lucky to have it with only a handful of us. At 4 I zipped down to 20-20's for a look, and there was only Rebecca (guest from Bobby's) out there, with non-stop 2-3ft waves coming through, and super clean! So I went out there too and had a fun as session with her.
Water temp? Was still bit chilly at the main break but easily a degree warmer than 2 days ago...
