BOOM! Some solid surf today in G-Land! All day long there were 6ft sets, and 8ft sets too - as in double to triple overhead waves. Offshore winds blowing all day long, swell was quite west so alot of action at the Ledge and upper Money Trees. Very powerful surf, I snapped my 6'6 in first surf, then second surf broke a lens in my surfing sunglasses and lost my freaky mask. However it seemed I'd paid the bouncers, then they let me in and I got to boogie, scoring some really good solid tubes here and there. Captured on GoPro too... stoked.
All morning I never seen more than 10 guys out, then in the afternoon the crowd probably peaked at around 30 guys spread out across the reef. So not too bad at all in that department. My Gado Gado for lunch was filling, tasty and healthy, then the buffet for dinner had some solid chicken meat and fresh fish, tempe & tofu as well as calamari, octopus, potato and veges and rice. Definitely covered all bases after a big surf. Actually after that surf I came in on sunset straight into 2 bintangs and I was pleasantly drunk and feeling satisfied at the end of it all!
The water temp was fairly good, I was perfect in boardies & wetsuit jacket. The sun didn't seem to shine to bright and the trades were blowing strong so that probably made it a touch cooler. Certainly wasn't perfect G-Land today, but for some it was the thickest meanest barrels they had ever been out in. There were definitely some solid shacks to be hunted down.
