G-Land Surf was NOT big this morning! Very surprising with the huge forecasts and all. Early stroll down the beach revealed nice size, 4-6ft, but certainly not the bombing swell expected. Offshore was up very early again, so guys were out getting some nice ones early on. The bulk of the waves hitting Money Trees. All morning it seemed to be slowly increasing, but not hugely. A 2.4m high tide at 11pm saw most of the crowd out then, and plenty of double overhead waves coming in. Not perfect, the wind seemed a bit South, and the waves looked a bit wobbly - although I am quite spoilt being here so long.
Ended up going down to Tigertracks, and seemed the swell started bombing through after lunch, while I was out Tiger's I could see solid whitewash up the main break. Tiger's was 2-3ft (it's typical size) and I had it to myself which was a huge bonus. I really enjoyed myself, and it had some power down there too. Nothing like Money Trees of course, but I enjoyed getting in some back hand attack!
Checked the main break around 3pm and seen some massive sets on the bombie! Swell really had kicked in by now, but the tide had drained right out, so there wasn't much love out there. One bombie set foamballed all the way through to Upper Money's... I'd imagine the current would have been gnarly with that too. Perhaps tomorrow we'll see better quality waves out the front...
