G-LAND ...    The forecast was correct.  First view in the morning and the excitement was buzzing through our veins.  I don't wanna speak for everyone, but it'd be far from likely i'm wrong on this one.  In fact, we were buzzing just from the sound of the swell vibrating off the jungle and the ceramic roof tiles of our huts, even before we stepped outside.  I've been sleeping in the clinic up front so i get the sound blasts even more.  It's easy to wake up quick on these mornings, at least compared to normal mornings lacking that so-called bugle alarm.  AT ATTENTION!!!

So the tides were just a little off of proper levels to push the swell down into Speedies and get it to run nicely.  Guys were surfing it both days through the 1.9 meter and 2.1 meter highs at 7 and 8 AM, respectively, but there weren't many good looking waves...meaning proper Speed Reef looking waves.  Most of what was happening was only on the 1st section of Speedies, but Launching Pad drops always help out in making things interesting.

Moneytrees was solid.  Double overhead plus and much more consistent.  Double-ups at the main peak and the Fang setting up a lot as well.  We never got the proper offshores that would have groomed every bump out from the faces though. There was always something a little funky happening, but not enough to make it bad.  It was just not that clean type of G-Land you could imagine it being.  But plenty of beautiful waves coming through.
