G-LAND ...   Such a calm n clean early morning.  Not  cloud cover over the Bay and the sun was already warm right from it's rise over the forest canopy.  Last night was the first proper hot n humid night.  Usually it's been actually a little chilled at night, but some little shift in the weather has been going on.  But we have come back to morning conditions that have been typical this season meaning offshore and already worth surfing when normally most everyone is still dreaming in their huts.  It had that glossy shine on it from the light winds and it was peeling pretty nicely down the point.  But it was inconsistent and i went back to sleep by 6:45.

When i woke up, the sun was already past midday.  Pretty solid morning nap after sleeping for 8 hours the night before.  Wish there was such a thing as a professional sleeper!!!  So the winds were up strong and for the 6-8 foot faced sets peaking up everywhere but doing so really inconsistently, i would have gone back asleep if it wasn't such a beautiful day.

3 days of not surfing and it's been nice just really noticing the jungle.  And the monkeys!!!   All the smack-talking about the grey macaques is only directed to a small group of 4.  Originally it was 4.   Now it's grown to maybe 7 after Franky got his beating about 6 weeks ago.  But the rest of the troop which may be something like 80-100 are cool.  They don't really cause too many issues that make the boys reach for their slingshots.  And it's these guys that are like an ultra HD 3-D show on the Discovery Channel.  Their world is so much like ours minus the tools and structures we're well accustomed to.  But they're socially, physiologically, and expressively so much like us.  I'd love to get over to Kalimantan to hang out with the Orangutans (orang=people; hutan=forest).  I know i'd be mesmerized for the rest of my life!!!
