What a spaced out day I had today. Dehydration, dizziness, ... should have learned from past experiences the importance of keeping very hydrated after so much surfing! Was going to have a whole day off, but felt OK this morning, so shot down to Tigertracks and surfed some pristine 2-3ft rights with no one else out. One of our guests Lucy had just surfed it and she said she'd had a ball, so that encouraged me to go down there too. Only lasted about 30-40mins then felt real tired, and so went back to camp. All afternoon after lunch I was in a fairly bad state. Super dizzy, head ache, sleepy and un-coordinated.
G-Land's main break was about 3-4ft all day, and the waves were going to most sections from Kongs through to Speedies. Sheet glass for the first hour and then light onshore for a few hours, then trades for the day late morning onwards. Waves were hitting the reef pretty cleanly, so if you got the right one you were stoked. Some guests had a great time out there today. Bit of a crew on it mid to late morning and then quiet most of the afternoon.
I was just down at the beach this evening where Bobby's hosted a New Moon Gandrung Dance party. It was fun. All the guests were getting up to dance with some lovely young traditional dancing girls from Banyuwangi, whilst a band was playing the local style music. We hold these every full moon and new moon. And right now as I type this, I am getting my shoulders worked over by Rio, one of the skilled masseuses in the camp available for a good price. Rp70,000 for well over an hour of quality massage! Thats only like $7 or 8 USD/AUD dollars.
