What a day!!!!! G-Land was off the richter scale today, some smoking barrels coming through Speedies! Swell still was solid 6ft on the sets sometimes the odd bigger, and the tradewind kicked in just after high tide, providing a good couple hours of tubular Speed Reef. Today was well on par with May 25th which was the previous best day of the year so far in the G-Land Surf.
So many good barrels were ridden today, I got some sick kegs also, it was a full on morning of tube time!
The Indian Ocean is still brewing up plenty of action, with a new swell arriving Friday and then another on Monday, which rears itself up to a beast of a size on Tuesday. I'm supposed to go to Bali for a break on the 30th June - Tuesday and meet a friend, but with that huge south swell that day, and a just do-able 1.8m tide at Speedies, it could possibly be the craziest session of the season! It's crazy how good waves just dominate a surfers way of thinking. It's like getting a hell barrel is a totally mind-boggling out-of-body experience that nothing can compare to it?
