2013 Season Opening Letter

CALLING ALL WARDS OF THE G-LAND NATION...WELCOME to the 2013 SEASON!!!

Ours doors are open, all engines idling and with hopeful thoughts of consistent G-Land perfection, our faces are smiling.  And we hope you feel the same as we do.  Every season that begins is naturally preceded by a short and needed break to R & R the Staff and the Camp.  The prevailing wet-season Westerlies also have to give back control to the dominant South-East Trade Winds in order for the unrivaled quality of G-Land to come alive.  Although this transition of power has not yet come to pass, come soon, we are confident it will.  We're still receiving proper and consistent rainfall, persisting until now since the middle of December and amounting to one of the wettest seasons in many years.  The forest canopy of Alas Purwo National Park, if you can imagine, is erupting green of every shade possible.  Trustingly, the weather in the jungle will soon not be so limiting for those wanting access to surf proper G-Land.  But for those of you familiar with the reward that's concealed in an early-season face-off with G-Land, may those gems of days be remembered forever.   For the rest of you, keep your eyes on the forecasts, as we are doing the same, and hopefully, soon enough we'll be regularly waking up to open skies over Grajagan Bay and sweet scents of the verdant jungle being carried out to sea by offshore winds.

We had another short off-season break, like the previous season, our doors were closed for only 3 months.  During this time, we kept the Camp clean from an all-ensuing overthrow by the jungle.  With the constant rainfall and regular gale force winds, we're proud to have the Camp in great condition and ready for you.  Also, like every new season that comes, we've upgraded or added several things to the Camp's facilities with the intention of making your experience more comfortable and more enjoyable.  The entertainment area now includes new billiard and ping pong tables.  Although there was value in knowing the tricks to the well-worn, veteran tables, it was time to retire them for a level playing field.  We've also added bicycles to the list of toys to use, naturally set up with board racks to get you into the Bay; 20-20's, Tigertracks, and beyond on your own timing and at your own leisure.  Our 2 stand-up paddle boards and 2 longboards are still available as well.  We will also be offering free internet to our Superior guests.  And if you haven't noticed our package pricing for this season, we've wrapped up the cost of a round-trip fastboat transfer in all the packages.  Lastly, the kitchen staff have spent part of the off-season on Bali updating the menu with several new fish dishes and desserts to our already extensive menu.  We're always hopeful that you appreciate our commitment to keeping the Camp up to its high standards.  We'd like you to know we're ever thankful that we can hold onto a reputation of being the best camp in the jungle for so many years, this reputation coming from all of you.

As always, the staff on Bali are there to get you set up for your trip and the staff on Java will be waiting for you with open arms and that special “WELCOME BACK.”  If you're planning a hit-and-run on G-Land and your time is limited, you have the option to set everything up through our website.  You can always contact us via e-mail or phone and we'll guide you through the process.  And remember, if you’re flying into Denpasar INTERNATIONAL, we have agents that can help you with the immigration and customs processes.  Just be sure to let us know that you’d like the VIP Airport Service.

We hope this reaches you in great spirits and looking forward to being part of another memorable experience.

Sincerely,
the Staff & Management at G-Land Bobby’s Surf Camp
