September 7-8 2012

G-LAND ...   That session we had on the 6th satiated me.  I pretty much forced myself to paddle out on the 7th and by the look of it on this day, that's pretty telling.  The 7th was happening again.  Not quite like the 6th because the significance of power decreased noticeably.  But it was still 10-12 foot faces and plenty of pipeliners running through Speed Reef.  Moneytrees working again too.  We've been blessed with great winds again.  That short little run of variable or bad winds during that last Moneytrees swell has vanished.  Back to what could be considered normal, and still giving thanks for the norm.  What a difference good winds will do here.  There's no other place i've been to that's so wind critical. BUT here's the thing about good, strong winds...it's fricking coooooooLD!!!  Bring your rubbers...

The 8th of September saw another step downwards in swell.  This time the step was larger, pretty much only setting up from Fan Palms upreef through Kongs.  Fun 6-8 foot faces and clean, carvable faces.  Maybe i could throw in a few 10 foot sets, but mostly not.  I few rare one's running through Moneytrees too, but no one really sitting on it cause you'd be watching so many more waves peeling off upreef.  It takes a truly patient individual to endure such visions of torture...

Don't forget to bring your rubber.  Wetsuits of some sort pretty much mandatory unless your riding a 4 inch board that you sink to your bellybutton or your BMI is in the upper range.
