G-LAND ... Can't write enough good things about how the conditions have been maintaining such a fun level of quality out here. Everything has been what you could imagine for enjoyable surf's along the entirety of the 6 km of reef...nothing intense straight out front...just FUN!!! Down into the Bay has been spoken of highly with people feeling good about doing the walk there and back for the quality of waves they were getting. So i'll leave it at that...and this too...anywhere from 8-12 foot faces out front with good winds and a noticeably high etiquette level.
May 5th was full moon and so the Gandrung Party was shaking the leaves off the trees. They brought in a stack of speakers about 6 foot high and 10 foot wide, positioning them no more than 15 feet behind us. My ears are still ringing... Great spirits were dancing around each other on this night. Even the girls seemed to be really enjoying themselves, which normally their off the whole deal about 1 hour into it.
They packed up and heading back out the track with the unfortunate luck of getting dumped on by a massive rain cloud. That cell came pretty close to being right overhead, lightning and thunder separated by about however long its gonna take you to read "no more than this." We got some of the heaviest rain and loudest rumbles i've heard since 2010. My hut was vibrating from a few of roaring thunders. The smell of the jungle went sweet and everything was clean and fresh in the morning. Great way to start the new day!!!
