G-LAND ... The water went green and it was another sign. The trail of signs seemed to begin when mid-April went into the past. Actually, the water seemed brown at times as well. Upwelling churning and pushing all the organic nutrients up the Sumba Trench and onto this blessed point gave one more indication that "this season" appears to be more like a normal season. Not like last season and how so many of the typical seasonal indicators were absent.
And with the coming of this chilled green water came a new swell. Well...it's been chilly for awhile now, but it got a bit chillier. So bring some rubber.
Enjoy the photos...they're definitely more enjoyable than me trying to capture it in words!!!
I'm out today and Jarred just came in...
SO...
Until Next Time!!!
he looks comfortable but check the looming lip line
simply put...what a beautiful wave...the sequence was amazing
i guess this would be a 2 foot wave by those judging "backs"
it's nice to watch different approaches to equipment come down the line
here's another example on display...this is his shorter version of his 10 footer
even one more example...beautiful board and beautiful body movement
looks pretty equal to me...a 1:1 ratio of height and width
makes me want to learn how to ride fakie
Lower Moneys...its was blue only a couple hundred meters upreef and greenish-brown at Speedies = UPWELLING
he's letting us know that he "can" fall
Crispy Treat
his classic composure...and looking ready to fight back
great capture of how much water is thrust upward by The Pad

two young surfers from my old neighborhood getting more comfortable each day
