G-LAND ... Coming around Blambangan's point on Buzy's fastboat felt good. The entire boat ride felt good actually, but making that turn felt all the better. Buzy didn't find the throttle stop, but just almost. It took us about 3 minutes to do the 2 kilometers from Kong's to the boat channel. Those triple 250's get that boat up on plane pretty frickin' well, especially in smooth water and not much swell at all.
But a new swell came in and as the tide went past slack at 9 and started to flood, subtle signs of a nice looking swell were showing up. At the peak of the day, pretty thick (18 second period swell at its front) waves were running through Money Trees and staying hollow from the help of good wind. Some of those good sets were getting up to about double-overhead, but mostly just under that for the day. But the entire point minus Speedies proper had waves. Inside Pad was working with a few real good looking waves barreling round. The Fang was receiving the wide ones...Fan Palms, the Ledge at the right tide...Kongs for sure working too. Not bad at all...feeling thankful right now.
I had a look at the photos from the last handful of days and looks like G-LAND was on. Not really...IT WAS ON!!! Some high quality looking waves for sure... Brett had some nice waves to finish it off and now he's back on Bali getting a dose of "contrast" from being out here since middle of May.
IF YOU'RE COMING OUT HERE SOON, BRING SOME RUBBER...
WATER IS STARTING TO CHILL DOWN TO ABOUT 78 F (25.5 C)
THE OFFSHORE MAKES IT COLD
