G-LAND ... Ahhhhh!!!   May 23rd!!!    I'm sure I'll eventually make a disconnect with the exact date and the events of the day, but I know there's two waves that I won't forget from the experience.  Not like July 15th of last season.  Those kinds of sessions are difficult for the mind to separate the experience from exactly when it happened.

Swell showed up today and SO DID the winds.  Offshore and blowing strong so there's only one ultimate response the wave has to such a thing.   So nice hollow waves coming through.  Surf was getting up to double overhead on the sets and fortunately for the number of people in the water today, the sets weren't too far apart from each other.  It was the first day I noticed a crowd in the water.  But everyone seemed to be doing alright.  Watching from the beach...yeah...different story.  Many too many a drops made by one too many a surfers on one wave...repeatedly.  But seemed to be a little mellower when I finally decided to surf.  I did see a few but they seemed understandable...except for one blatant one that ended up putting the guy behind right into the driving lip.

So Ledge/Moneys was really the most consistent, focal spot but some real nice one's coming through Money Trees Proper.  Even a few more sets pushing down into Inside Pad on the higher tide, but some true patience was needed.  I would figure for every set coming through down there, you would have to watch 3-4 sets come through up reef.  That's some serious willingness to avoid the gravitational pull up the reef.  But staying real hollow down there.

BEAUTIFUL DAY OF SURFING AT PANTAI PLENGKUNG!!!
