G-LAND ... after a hectic week just gone, the camp has settled down a bit and we're now holding 37 guests instead of 67 and 78 from the trip before. 37 feels much different than those other numbers. But fortunately enough, the crew that was here were good people and made it alright to handle.
Got up early this morning around 6 to meet up with the new guests and had a look out front for a good 30 minutes. Didn't really see too much happening since the tide was pretty low... BUT ... that changed as the tide came in and the wind started blowing nice and clean towards Grajagan. By the time everyone was settled with their rooms and got their bags, the surf was looking real fun.
Money Trees was lining up very cleanly and staying hollow on a lot of them. 6-10 foot faces with a subtle texture from the offshore made the ocean look real enticing. But I ended up waiting for a different time of the day to enjoy it.
Paddled out at about 2, passing Spock on the way out the lagoon hearing him say that is was flat and I must be desperate. He was right about that cause I didn't see much on my last check, but things changed. And I'm happy I went for a surf cause Upper Money's was a little overhead on the sets that started to come in. Fan Palm/Ledge had a small pack of 8 or so on it and looking real fun too and eventually sucked me up there. But I kept sneaking back down to catch a few with no hassles at all. Lot's of people up reef at Kongs and they all seemed happy to have been there. I know I was happy where I was at. Definitely a good fun day!!!
