G-Land was a raining away in the night and early in the morning. Just after 2 weeks of not having rain, then the past few days some showers have come back. Bizarre! But hey, anyway, there was some great 4-5ft sets consistently pouring through Money Trees early, and a small crew enjoyed uncrowded walls right up till about 9:30am. When of course all the boat babies just kept multiplying in numbers in the line-up.

I paddled out before 8am, and between 8 and 9am had some really great waves in Hoop Throwers, while the crowd stayed up the reef on Moneys. What a bonus getting this section on for a small window. Some nice tubes, long rides, light offshore, clean, just 2 or 3 of us on that area of reef. Despite the 150+ people in the jungle this session still happened. G-Land magic!

I'm leaving to Bali tomorrow for a week or 2, and Michael will be taking care of the surf guide stuff including these reports for awhile. Its been a great month of plenty of uncrowded surfs, warm water, lots of offshore winds, and good food and people.

My cynical paragraph for the day is:

DAMN THOSE BOAT TAKING GOONS, why do a small minority of surfers want to take their camps zodiac out (Bobby's zodiac has taken very few if any people out in the last month I've been here, but the other camps, especially the new Tiger camp, have been hitting the line-up like the plague). Its one of the only thing that makes my blood boil in G-Land! Its disgusting when I sit there in the line-up waiting patiently, and a boat full of 4-8 surfers all zoom up in front of me and they jump out and snake the whole pack. Even if they don't snake, the boat has boat wobbled the line-up with its wake, and theres 5-10 minutes of dangerous wobbly waves!! G-Land is gnarly enough when its perfect, let alone with BOAT-WAKE in it. Paddle out the keyhole or from the beach like the rest of us, and create a more natural crowd! Had to get that off my chest before I head to Bali for my break. Maybe I need a petition of hundreds and hundreds of disgruntled guests about their thoughts on boat-taking, and present that too all the other camp owners. All camp owners need to keep us safe and keep all of G-Land peaceful and mellow, and stop taking people to the main break in the boat! Tigertracks, 20/20s, fishing, diving, these are things the zodiac is good for.
