G-Land was pretty user-friendly today. A 2.4m high tide was up late morning, so plenty of water over the reef, and the waves were 3-4ft on the sets. So about head high mostly with the occassional bigger one. However later in the day I checked at 2pm and it looked like some solid 4fters hitting Fan Palm and the Ledge.
I took my mate Sharky out Money Trees, and he had a ball. Got a few peelers that really made his day. We surfed for 2-3 hours. It was good to be able to hit the lip and do some hot dog surfing.
Calvin 'the Calvinator' Howell, a guest spending about a month in G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp, told me he reckoned from all his trips to Gnarloo, that G-Land is much better for consistency and the ability to get more barrels. And also a much more mellow spread out crowd here. That was good to know. Calvin actually scratched up his shin on the reef yesterday, but was still OK to surf today.
