G-Land on May 1st 2010

Alright!!!  G-Land had it's first proper day of offshore wind.  Felt like a true dry-season day.  Walked up to the beach and saw some quality looking waves peeling down the reef in front at Moneys.  Not big...maybe 6 foot face, but the top's were getting pulled right off...sending up a decent plume.

Kong's was again the better part of the reef to be at today.  Fan Palms/Ledge was collecting some nice set's as well, but the consistency was better up the reef.  Inside Launching Pads was lining up a bit too, but today was pretty inconsistent no matter what part of the reef you chose to surf and so anywhere but Kongs was a decent test of patience.

Surf up at Kongs was fun.  The biggest sets were getting up to 8 foot on the face...definitely some really nice waves running the reef for up to 400 yards if you were a lucky one.  Barrels coming through as well.  I was surprised how many waves went hollow up there today.  And Ledge was definitely causing some sets to fold over really well.  The offshore wind makes such a big difference!!!
