G-Land on April 29th 2010

G-Land is still keeping on this new trend.  The winds are definitely better than they have been earlier in the month.  Most mornings are starting out with a light N wind and swinging through the W, ultimately going SSE.  Anything with a little bit of E in it is nice.

Surf today was still focusing up at Kongs more than anywhere else.  The swell models predicted a 202 degree swell, but it didn't seem to be coming from that direction since nothing was really breaking down the reef.  The scenario at Kongs was great.  Some extremely long waves peeling through it's many peaks.  The few wide one's that came in were easily worth the extra wait.  Maybe something like 300 yards travelled...beautiful.  Waves were up to 10 faces on the nice sets, but more like 6 foot on the common ones.  Clean faces.  Late afternoon low-tide had some nice sets on the Ledge and if you were lucky to get that one...well...riding the tube always feels nice.

Full moon party last night was real good fun.  Lot's of people from the other camps showed up and counting the 71 guests already here at Bobby's, I'd say the headcount was something like 110+ bulehs plus the locals hanging out too.  Puma put on a show for the first dance and we all tried to follow.  The party went on till midnight and there were a few Aussie left wide-eyed through the night.
