G-Land on April 21st 2010

G-Land received its SECOND sizable swell of the season.  Well...after writing that, I realized that "the season" is meant to acknowledge the dry season.  But it's still the wet season in my opinion.  Either way, the forecast prediction was 8 foot at 18 seconds at 215 degrees.  And it was pretty right on.

The forecast also predicted W and NW winds up to 15 knots all day.  And fortunately, that was wrong.  G-Land was pretty clean all day, but some S winds did churn up a bit.  Luckily, it really didn't have any bad effects on the wave form.   Easily one of those days that at the end of your wave, the distance back up to the peak was impressively far away.

Everyone seems really happy and thankful for today.  Fan Palms through Money Trees was working and some solid waves were coming through.  It was on average 10 to 14 foot faces, but there were naturally some larger sets than that.  Money's had some very powerful sections that would really draw water off the reef and throw over.  A few double-up sets as well.  Early in the morning, Ledge was heaving over, but big walls made it a difficult option to take off on.

At sunset, the surf was pumping.  Big sets, on the lower tide were folding over the Bombora.  It may be another beautiful day to go surfing tomorrow.
