G-Land backed off today a bit but there was still a few sizable sets coming through. There must have been some decent west winds out in the open ocean, cause the somewhat calm winds here on the coast didn't warrant the bumps crossing up the swell.
G-Land surf was about 5-7 foot faces but, towards the later afternoon... once again... larger sets (6-8 foot) were pulsing in hitting Ledge/Money's. And if your good fortune was strong, it was possible to get a ride for a few hundred yards. The bumps made it a good challenge to negotiate the sections, but swooping around them with speed and getting up on the high line always feels nice.
Surreal sunset tonight. The cloud cover was situated perfectly to bounce light from the already set sun back down onto the water giving us a session in molten lava. When it's like that, it's easy to miss a set since there's a legitimate distraction.
Happy Birthday to Will Carless... unplanned and unknowingly, his short stay here got him a couple days of fun waves and then a ultra-sweet birthday cake. Hope you enjoyed it all!
