G-Land finally pulled in some swell today...as forecasted. In fact, the forecast was accurate on both the swell and wind. The sets were 8-10 foot (faces) and even though the wind was predominantly out of the NNW, it never created enough shearing to break-up the wave line. It was the first day in about 1 week that traveling 200 yards down the line happened frequently. We got to feel just a little bit of this place's special character again...G-Land.
Money Trees was collecting most of the swell, but if I was so fortunate to be out in the water around 10:00, I would have been the sole surfer for a Fang session...when it breaks like mini Launching Pads/Speedies. But in being real with what I saw, no offshore = no barrels. But the form was still looking nice.
By sunset, sets were still running down the point and at dusk, I was able to count 5 waves spoking around Fan Palms through Money Trees. I'm excited to wake up this next morning and hopefully see the same scenario unraveling.
