It started last night in the dining area of Bobby's G-Land Surf Camp, but I left it up to their high-noon scheduled meeting to see if it would really happen. You could melt all the empty confidence-fuel vessels from last night and make a glass-bottom boat. High noon came and only 2 people were good to their words...Newcastle Neil and Stanwell Park Charlie. I wasn't going to make it "the 3 of us." Instead...I paddled out through the lagoon, unplanned and to my benefit...just before they did. I.T.N. at 12-noon happened...that means "In The Nude." Probably a first for Pantai Plengkung (G-Land).
I wonder...if it was pumping, would they have still committed. There were, however still some fun little waves, but in the smaller range for the G-Land Surf. I got that same special window as yesterday, so my surf was definitely not resonating with other peoples experiences. Head-high today with a few rare, tight barrels, but mostly pretty weak. Still, we are being blessed with good, offshore winds.
I'll confess, even though I'm not a strong supporter of swell-modeling, I'm hoping that tomorrow's forecast is correct and we all get to enjoy some pure fun.
