G-Land Surf today just wasn't what it could have been. The new swell came through, solid 4-6ft sets through the morning, and some slightly bigger ones in the afternoon. There was no problem with this swell, the problem was a proper tradewind never turned up! So all through the morning, the Southwest sideshore just got stronger, and then in the afternoon it went a bit more South, but the waves were still sectiony and not barreling well at all. Although there were some great wally waves to be had through Money Trees all day long.
A huge frothing crew turned up at another camp today, so the uncrowded line-up of recent times was not so during the high tide, as well as a possibly illegal boat charter of guys turned up from Bali for the day, so they were all frothing and trying to catch as many waves as possible. Here in G-Land there are certain rules in place so that boats cannot just turn up here, the waves are more for the exclusive use of guests staying in one of the camps on the point such as G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp.
A few of our guests went down to Tigertracks and reported having a fun session, I was planning on going for a second surf maybe down there or out the front, after my morning surf and yoga session, I had lunch, then fell asleep for 3 hours! Whenever I've come back from Bali, I always have plenty of naps in the following days, its great.
