Banyuwangi has a beach tour that is very famous among foreign tourists, especially for those lovers of water sports. The name of the beach is G-Land or surrounding residents call it Plengkung Beach.
The character of the waves on the beach is divided into 3 levels, namely:
- Kongs, whose height can sometimes reach 6-8 meters has always been the target of professional surfers to test their skills.
- Speedies, wave heights ranging from 5-6 meters.
- Many Tracks, wave height ranges from 2-4 meters, wave level is usually used for the beginner's exercise and it is advisable to hire a coach if you want to try surfing on this beach just in case if an accident while practicing.
To get to G-Land there are 2 routes, namely by land or sea route. The land route is to use the wheel of four or two wheels to Kalipait which is about 65 km from the city of Banyuwangi and all vehicles must stop at Pancur Post. The journey continues with a 9 km walk or rent a special vehicle that has been provided by the manager of Alas Purwo National Park. While when the sea route is by renting a speedboat from the beach Grajagan, about 40 km south of the city of banyuwangi.
