G-Land Bobby's Surf Camp had a fair few new arrivals today, some first timers, and then some such as ex WCT Pro Surfer Jake Spooner showed up also. He was in the 95, 96, 97 Quiksilver Pro's at G-Land, so its good to see him come back to surf the G-Land Surf.
G-Land Surf was alot bigger today, a solid 6ft with occassional 8ft set, mostly Money Trees action. The Bombie had a few sets breaking, and an offshore wind blew all day. Quite a big crew late morning, at least 50 guys in the water. I'm sure they were all stoked when Joyo's boat came ripping up the line-up about 7 times in 1 hour to drop off most of their camp. So basically the hour I watched late morning 80% of the big 6-8ft waves had a a dirty big boat wake through them!
I caught a few good ones on the low tide, before getting an 8ft set on the head at Money Trees that broke my leggie. Before dark got a few nice ones before getting pitched over the falls failing an air drop attempt on a late take-off, then got a huge set on the head, and so went in feeling humbled. Must be time for a Bintang.
