G-Land was set upon by a full moon today. Unfortunately the waves were not the biggest... about 2-3ft and offshore... but because it is the night of the full moon, we celebrate the full moon each month with a Gandrung party at Bobby's G-Land Surf Camp.
A traditional band from Banyuwangi came out to our G-Land Surf Camp and banged out their tunes all night. Things really heated up after dinner when the Bintang's had been flowing, and everyone was happy to see 6 beautiful dancers get up on to the dancefloor!
A local dancer showed how to do the job right, as he 'chased' a girl around, before getting angry and turning his back on her. He then proceeded to throw 'magic' at her, known as Jaran Goyang - Banguwangi Magic. She then suddenly starts chasing him around, but now he plays hard to get! Great display of dancing.
A bit later the G-Land guests got to have a turn, and many of us were donning traditional headbands and scarfs and putting on our best dance moves as we got one-on-one dancing with the cantik (beautiful) young ladys. The party rocked on till the wee hours of the night, a great night had by all at Bobby's G-Land Surf Camp
