My goodness!!! Almost an exact replay of yesterday went down today. The main differences were: surf backed off a bit and an elaborate ceremonial sacrifice/offering took place. But the call regarding the fire blazing anew was the same….equally as shocking the 2nd time coming. I still didn’t surf! 9 days straight which, of course, is a lot if your here at G-Land.

Friday, November 6th, 20090.0 meter tide at sunrise and with the decrease in swell, I could only see 1 foot of the 2 feet faces. With small swell and low low-tides, there is definitely a reason for hope. When there’s size on a 0.0, noticing how long surfers can disappear from view on their below-sea-level bottom turn is a good indicator of how quick you can get pushed up onto the reef.
By the reach of a 1.0 meter tide, both the offshores and surf started to rise up. So I planned my surf to ride off the crowning 2.0 meter high and into Happy Hour! It was few and far in between sets, but same for the number of people out in the surf.
G-Land was about 3 to 5 feet on the face and if you were the chosen one, that rare overhead wave came straight to your smiling face. Clean and (more…)

Thursday, October 29th, 2009Nice pulse arrived today at G-Land with 3 to 4 foot sets focusing a little further up-reef than yesterday…a slight swell-direction shift to the west. I wasn’t up early early this morning cause I drank 2 small Bintangs. There’s something sinister inside them beers…maybe they’re still using formaldehyde? Bobby’s G-Land Surf Camp should start pouring Draft Guinness. Any supporters???

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009It really amazes me how different the G-Land Surf conditions are from one day to the next. The early morning’s situation was not even close enough to wipe the sleep out of my eyes or head. However, by 11:00, sets were showing up as the tide came through its bottom…..but it was innnn_connnn_sissss_tent!

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009Not too much to write about today BECAUSE it was a day to do mainly one thing here at G-Land…. RIDE a SURFBOARD on WAVES. I can throw in a few other activities such as; ate quality food, fixed a few dings, stretched, but I don’t want to yank details out of them.
Surfed some quality 6 to 8 foot-faced Fang. I saw some nice barrels from both perspectives and they were equally enjoyable. My goodness there (more…)
